The City of Austin issued building permits for 65 new commercial permit leads between Monday, Oct 12 and Sunday, Oct 18, 2026. Before counting, we set aside four permits for narrow scopes (retaining walls, residential-type work and a one-night event). Only 14 of the 65 list a valuation; together they add up to about $399M. Most were interior remodels (47), along with 10 new buildings, 4 shell buildings, 2 additions with remodels and 2 additions.

$385 million of the reported valuation comes from the two highest-valued projects.
